About this role
As a Senior Android Engineer in the Retail Operational Excellence domain, you will join a dynamic polyglot team focused on building new functionalities within the Grocery and Retail domain. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams worldwide to unlock opportunities for customers and partners, improving their experience when ordering groceries.
Your role will be pivotal in fostering communication and collaboration across teams. You will work closely with product owners, front‑end engineers on web and mobile, and backend engineers.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering teams and Product Managers in workshops to define new product features.
Consistently deliver high‑quality software that meets team best practices and expectations.
Take complete ownership of components you develop, managing timelines and communicating progress toward team and organizational goals.
Share progress and ideas with team, contribute to the Android guild by sharing new practices, patterns, and standards.
As a trusted contributor, contribute to other teams’ repositories to integrate new features into their codebase (inner‑source model).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Extensive experience with Kotlin, including integration and unit testing.
Proven experience integrating with server‑side APIs within a Microservices architecture.
Strong understanding and experience with Android architecture (multi‑module, dependency injection, MVVM).
Proficiency building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
A solid understanding of developing software using isolated and reusable components.
A keen eye for code design, prioritising efficiency and readability.
Knowledge and experience with experimentation and A/B testing.
Comfortable working within an Agile methodology.
