GPU Technical Lead Software Development

THE ROLE:
The AMD Developer Engineering team works closely with internal teams and external partners to create some of the best content on the planet, helping them fully exploit the technical capabilities of AMD's hardware products. Our aim is to raise the standards for gaming graphics and performance.
THE PERSON:
As a Manager in the Developer Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact AMD’s growth by reaching new users, technologies, and audiences. The team provides technology and engineering support needed to address stability, quality, and performance issues to guarantee our customers a flawless experience at launch. This support involves direct collaboration on feature integration and performance optimizations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with external partners of AMD to enable them to produce their applications as efficiently as possible.
- Work closely with your business counterpart, taking accountability for technology to deliver on the goals for the group and team.
- Grow the technical expertise of your team through technical leadership and advocating for sound software engineering practices.
- Grow people and the team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, process, and continuous improvement efforts.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience working as a tech lead or rendering lead.
- Excellent team management, product management, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Understands that requirements are rarely perfect and is willing to extract the spirit of the requirement to make the system or software better.
- Has excellent written and verbal skills.
- Is willing to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis.
The following experiences are optional but highly desired:
- GCN / RDNA graphics architecture experience.
- Experience with Direct X 12 and/or Vulkan graphics APIs.
- Game engine or game rendering framework experience.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Has a degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent.
