The Director of Information Technology (IT) serves as a strategic partner to AD Smartrac, aligning business objectives with technological capabilities to develop innovative solutions and drive competitive advantage. This role requires a deep understanding of current IT services and emerging technologies to effectively recommend, implement, and manage solutions that optimize business processes and support strategic initiatives. The Director of IT will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, fostering a shared accountability for achieving desired outcomes and ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable value. As an active member of the AD Smartrac team, the Director will champion the IT strategy, working closely with other IT functions to ensure alignment and support across the organization. Key priorities for the role include: Developing an IT Strategy and Roadmap. Technology strategy and investments will need to be aligned with business strategy. The IT Director will then lead the development and implementation of a prioritization process to enable AD Smartrac to make investment decisions that drive growth and profitability and work with the business leaders to integrate IT solutions into the business and customer strategy. Collaborating with other functions (inside and outside of IT) to formulate a long-term IT strategy and recommendations for technology investments to enhance current IT capabilities and advance the business. Assessing the potential and business applications of existing and emerging technologies. Ensuring Execution of Current and Planned Programs. The Director of IT will actively partner with other IT functions (PMO, Applications, Sourcing, Infrastructure, Information Security, etc.) to drive the execution of current and planned programs to deliver positive business outcomes. The incumbent will ensure that the programs meet expected benefits and hold people accountable for results (within IT and in other functions). Possibly taking on other part-time IT assignments outside of AD Smartrac as a member of the IT Leadership Team (e.g., broader strategic planning elements such as artificial intelligence or application rationalization analyses, special projects, etc.). Minimum Requirements:12+ years of strong business experience and significant experience in leading IT for a region in a manufacturing organization, preferably as a director of IT for a complex region of a business unit or a global business unit. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science (or equivalent). A Master’s Degree is a plus. Strong business experience, as well as experience in IT, with proven experience leading organizations in a heavily matrixed organization. Experience in defining, developing, and implementing IT strategies and major systems; a broad-based business person capable of applying current and future technology and competencies to meet overall business strategies and priorities. Must have experience with ERP implementations and strong overall supply chain knowledge in manufacturing companies. Experience working across Oracle Fusion ERP Manufacturing/ IT project, including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, supply chain, and finance. Strong leadership capabilities and proven collaboration and communication skills – ability to navigate global, business, and regional structures across IT and the business to influence and execute effectively. Strong interpersonal skills, performance-driven. Ability to see “the bigger picture” and focus on and work in the details; this is a ‘hands-on’ role. Proven ability to act as a change agent for the organization (beyond the IT organization). Ability to travel regionally and globally.
