Position Overview:
The Corporate Development Director – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is responsible for leading the company’s inorganic growth initiatives through strategic acquisitions and mergers. This role emphasizes financial analysis, integration planning, and post-merger integration to ensure seamless transitions and the realization of anticipated synergies. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the software development or digital transformation sectors. Additionally, this person is responsible for tracking and maintaining Solvd’s overall M&A pipeline, which includes monthly reviews with the Solvd leadership team. This position will report to the SVP, Corporate Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the corporate development strategy to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Deal Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential M&A opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence to assess the viability and potential return on investment of target companies.
- Integration Planning: Develop detailed integration plans, including supply chain, operations, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and distribution process blueprints, to enable transition service agreement setup, Day-1 readiness planning, and post Day-1 synergy opportunity assessment.
- Post-Merger Integration: Oversee the execution of integration plans, ensuring alignment across all business functions and the achievement of projected synergies.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, legal advisors, and financial consultants, to facilitate successful transactions.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience involving finance, strategy, or valuation, with at least 5 years in investment banking, transaction financial services consulting, or corporate development.
- Proven track record of leading and supporting M&A transaction execution, including deal cultivation.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in integration planning and post-merger integration.
- Worked at a software development, digital transformation or professional services company.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to travel as required.
