Senior Software Engineer (Investment Banking Tech) - Kraków

About the Project: We're Markets & Securities Services IT Poland, a technology department providing technology services and solutions for the Investment Bank businesses at HSBC. Systems we create enable transactions across multiple asset classes. Our teams work in partnership with the business counterparts to deliver high-throughput systems, from low latency trading applications to large Microservices platforms. We also perform architecture and cloud migrations. As the use of digital assets and currencies (DAC), tokenization, and distributed ledger technology (DLT) continues to grow, this role will help build and implement innovative DAC technology solutions and services within Markets and Securities Services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, automate, maintain, and manage production systems (Cloud/Non-Cloud) and non-production systems (Cloud/Non-Cloud) to ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Interact with infrastructure, change management, QA, DBA, and application teams.
- Work independently on technical analysis, development, and Dev Ops activities.
- Provide support to Blockchain/DLT systems post go-live.
- Evaluate existing applications and platforms, providing recommendations for performance improvements.
- Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process enhancements.
- Quickly produce proof of concept for new technologies.
- Interpret business and IT requirements and provide solutions.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Java-based n-tier applications (Spring framework).
- Experience with any RDBMS or No SQL databases; Postgre SQL experience is an advantage.
- Cloud experience, preferably GCP.
- Overall development experience (5-8 years).
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles, tooling, and practices (Jenkins, Ansible).
- Ability to troubleshoot simple problems on the CI/CD pipeline.
- Proven experience with production live services.
- Interest in or knowledge of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) with flexibility to work with new technologies/languages in the Blockchain space.
- Experience with DLT technologies like Ethereum, Corda, IBM Hyperledger Fabric, or DAML is a significant advantage.
- Self-motivated and highly professional with the ability to lead and take ownership to meet aggressive deadlines.
