Your responsibilities:
Administer and maintain database environments including Azure Database for Postgre SQL (Flexible Server / Hyperscale) and Azure SQL Database.
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, including performance tuning, and index management.
Create, test, and manage backups and Disaster Recovery procedures (e.g., Point-in-time Restore, Geo-Redundancy).
Participate in data migration projects, including compatibility analysis, planning, execution, and testing.
Automate administrative tasks using scripting and tools such as Azure Dev Ops pipelines, Python, and Azure CLI.
Collaborate with Platform and ETL teams to deliver best possible performance of daily operations
Implement and oversee security and compliance policies (e.g., RBAC, auditing, encryption at rest and in transit).
Has 3+ years of experience in administering Postgre SQL and Microsoft SQL Server relational databases.
Is familiar with Microsoft Azure and its database services, such as: Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for Postgre SQL (Flexible Server), Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Backup.
Has experience with optimizing JSON and JSONB data types usage.
Has experience with database migrations (both logical and physical), using e.g. pg_dump, bacpac, and Sql Package.
Is proficient in SQL, T-SQL, and pg SQL.
Knows how to use administrative tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and pg Admin.
Understands best practices in data security, auditing, and access management (including Azure RBAC, Managed Identities).
Nice to Have:
Experience with on-premise SQL databases
Certification: DP-300 – Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure
Certifications: AZ-104
