Controls Engineering – Global Banking & Markets - Analyst/Associate - Warsaw location_on Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland Controls engineering is responsible for building the next generation firm-wide control plane for our front office desks. The successful candidate will use their deep technical skills to inform the implementation of a highly scalable message-driven architecture, processing approximately 3 billion messages per day and making ‘safe to trade’ determinations in real time. The role will also involve building web applications that allow users to register, develop, and administer controls on the platform. Role Overview: This role offers the opportunity to work in a competitive and nimble team to implement high-performance code using open-source libraries. Candidates will work directly with stakeholders, including product managers and risk managers, to improve our controls data platform. The team is distributed across Warsaw, New York, London, and India, focusing on control data solutions for Global Banking & Markets Operational Risk and delivering new features. JOB DUTIES: Deliver and design new features for the Controls Engineering Team. Implement high-performance code using core Java and open-source libraries. Contribute to continuous platform performance improvements. Investigate incidents to review and redesign existing flows to enhance platform stability. Participate as a member of a global team on large development projects, assuming responsibilities for components as needed. Collaborate with engineering leadership, developers, and operations through written and verbal presentations. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/DEGREE AND FIELD: Bachelor’s degree (US or UK foreign equivalent) in any STEM field, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related areas (e.g., Finance, Quantitative Economics). MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least one (1) year of experience in software engineering or full-stack development roles. SPECIAL SKILLS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED: Experience with software engineering principles and practices. Knowledge of Java. Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and enterprise applications. Ability to clearly communicate software and system descriptions to stakeholders and track delivery.
