You'll build robust service layers over complex legacy systems, expose new capabilities via modern APIs, and continuously deliver features used by Germany's largest state-owned enterprises across critical infrastructure sectors (healthcare, nuclear energy, airports, military).
Responsibilities: Analyze and extend complex legacy Java codebases; build a clean API layer on top of existing functionality.
Design, implement, and document RESTful (and where relevant Graph QL) APIs using Open API/Swagger.
Develop new services and modernize existing modules with Spring (Boot/MVC/Data/Security).
Write clean, testable, well-documented code; participate in code reviews.
Troubleshoot performance issues and production bugs.
Collaborate closely with Frontend, QA, and Product to refine requirements and technical solutions.
Requirements:4+ years of Java development experience, Java-based web applications, preferably using the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data)Strong knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle).
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Fluency in English (min.
C1) and Polish .
Nice to have: Graph QL API experience (designing and consuming)Experience defining and documenting APIs using the Open API Specification (Swagger)Experience with Hibernate, Tomcat, or No SQL technologies.
