Overview

Position Objective:

The Physician is an administrative and operational role responsible for providing exceptional medical care by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans. This safety-sensitive position involves direct patient care and medication administration. The incumbent reports to a Regional Manager and collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and team support.

Responsibilities:

1. Practice medicine with sound judgment, adhere to ethical standards, stay updated with current technologies and industry practices, and recognize limitations by seeking consultation when necessary.
2. Fulfill all clinical obligations including compliance with accrediting agencies, CLIA, drug prescription laws, HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and safety standards.
3. Independently care for patients with acute and chronic illnesses, especially in older adults.
4. Be accountable for patient outcomes, consult specialists when needed, and maintain detailed records within 48 hours of each visit.
5. Engage with hospitalists for hospitalized patients.
6. Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, and coordinate care for patients with complex health needs using evidence-based guidelines.
7. Maintain comprehensive electronic health records.
8. Provide evidence-based medical care focused on prevention and outcomes in a managed care setting.
9. Demonstrate compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousness in behavior.
10. Interpret diagnostic data and establish effective relationships with patients and team members.
11. Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as requested.
12. Ensure patients are seen at least every other visit by a Physician.
13. Deliver 5-Star service aligned with Better Health Group's mission.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements/Skills:

1. Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
2. Active medical license in the practice state.
3. Minimum of 3 years outpatient primary care experience.
4. ACLS/BLS certification as mandated.
5. Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests.
6. Experience with electronic medical records systems.
7. Ability to manage chronic diseases common in seniors.
8. Proficiency in analyzing medical and governmental documents.
9. Respect for cultural diversity and sensitivity.
10. Competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
11. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and emergency handling skills.
12. Resourcefulness, initiative, and results-driven attitude.
13. Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
14. Strong reasoning, critical thinking, and communication skills.
15. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

Physical Requirements:

1. Full body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
2. Ability to stand, walk, push, bend, kneel, and reach for prolonged periods.
3. Capability to lift and move patients and equipment up to 15 lbs.
4. Normal vision and hearing with correction.
5. Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle.
