Overview
Position Objective:
The Physician is an administrative and operational role responsible for providing exceptional medical care by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans. This safety-sensitive position involves direct patient care and medication administration. The incumbent reports to a Regional Manager and collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and team support.
Responsibilities:
- Practice medicine with sound judgment, adhere to ethical standards, stay updated with current technologies and industry practices, and recognize limitations by seeking consultation when necessary.
- Fulfill all clinical obligations including compliance with accrediting agencies, CLIA, drug prescription laws, HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and safety standards.
- Independently care for patients with acute and chronic illnesses, especially in older adults.
- Be accountable for patient outcomes, consult specialists when needed, and maintain detailed records within 48 hours of each visit.
- Engage with hospitalists for hospitalized patients.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, and coordinate care for patients with complex health needs using evidence-based guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive electronic health records.
- Provide evidence-based medical care focused on prevention and outcomes in a managed care setting.
- Demonstrate compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousness in behavior.
- Interpret diagnostic data and establish effective relationships with patients and team members.
- Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as requested.
- Ensure patients are seen at least every other visit by a Physician.
- Deliver 5-Star service aligned with Better Health Group's mission.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills:
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
- Active medical license in the practice state.
- Minimum of 3 years outpatient primary care experience.
- ACLS/BLS certification as mandated.
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to manage chronic diseases common in seniors.
- Proficiency in analyzing medical and governmental documents.
- Respect for cultural diversity and sensitivity.
- Competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and emergency handling skills.
- Resourcefulness, initiative, and results-driven attitude.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Physical Requirements:
- Full body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, bend, kneel, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Capability to lift and move patients and equipment up to 15 lbs.
- Normal vision and hearing with correction.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle.
